Sir Syed Kazim Ali The Best English Writing Mentor in Pakistan

Introduction

This is Mohammed Hashir, AD IB Qualifier. I graduated with a degree in Industrial Engineering from the National University of Science and Technology, and I have experience working in five different industries. While working at one of the world’s top companies in 2022, I came to realize that this career path is not aligned with my personal goal of living a life dedicated to public welfare. Very soon, I decided to pursue a career in civil services. As we all know, the core skill required to qualify for the civil services examination is the ability to write your thoughts on paper coherently. To learn this skill, I began visiting various teachers and mentors. To cut it short, I was fortunate enough, thanks to Almighty Allah, to find Sir Syed Kazim Ali’s website, CSSPrepForum. I registered for the orientation session eight months before the examination. I was impressed by the way Sir Syed Kazim Ali was personally guiding all the students. I joined the course, and within four months, I had developed all the required writing skills to qualify for the CSS examination. Although it was challenging to write long paragraphs on a daily basis, my enthusiasm for joining the civil services and Sir Kazim’s daily feedback from his students motivated me to complete this arduous task. It was very tiring, but when I finished this journey, the confidence that I got was exceptional. I would like to write extensively about the four-month journey, but as Sir Syed Kazim Ali does not want to be praised by his students, I am not providing many details here.

How has your experience with Sir Syed Kazim Ali transformed your writing skills, particularly in essay and précis writing?

As already mentioned, Sir Kazim’s practice of allocating separate time to each of his students allowed me to pinpoint the problems in my writing that needed to be addressed promptly. I devoted my time and energy as demanded by my beloved teacher, and with his feedback on every task, I was able to improve with each one. One thing that I had in my mind was to become able to write 100% error-free. Although I did not succeed in becoming the perfect writer, my writing skills improved to such an extent that I became capable of writing a good 2,500-word essay within three hours, fulfilling all the requirements outlined by the examiner.

What specific challenges were you facing in your CSS, PMS, or descriptive exam preparation before you joined Sir Syed Kazim Ali’s course, and how did his teaching help you overcome them?

I was facing a couple of problems regarding the whole CSS examination. One of those was the difficulty of developing an answer to a 20-mark question that covers all the requirements of the examination. The other one was time management during the exam, especially the essay paper. Both issues were resolved after joining Sir Syed Kazim Ali’s course. He taught the students to identify the requirements of each question’s statement. This solved half of my problem, as I only had to practice producing answers, having all my relevant knowledge at hand.

Describe the unique aspects of Sir Syed Kazim Ali’s teaching methods that set him apart from other English writing coaches.

Sir Kazim’s ability to identify the weaknesses of each student and then guide him separately is the best quality that a teacher can have. He diagnoses each student’s writing skills and instructs him according to his abilities. I was very weak in my writing skills when I joined him. He gave detailed feedback on every single task. By following each of his instructions, I was able to overcome my weaknesses within four months.

In what ways did Sir Kazim’s course improve your confidence in writing structured, high-quality essays and précis or blogs, etc.?

Sir Kazim’s guidance and training boosted my confidence in my writing. After completing his course, I became aware of my writing skills and started writing on a daily basis. I was now capable of expressing my views on any topic. This enabled me to write confident answers to all the subjects, especially essays and précis.

What specific techniques or strategies did you learn from Sir Kazim that you still use today in your writing?

The most important technique I learned from his course is to write only relevant information. Before joining his course, I used to write a lot about the topic asked. He taught us to write only strong and relevant information. I believe this skill of writing relevantly has greatly helped me express my views on various topics.

How would you describe Sir Syed Kazim Ali’s role in helping you achieve your academic and professional goals?

Sir Syed Kazim Ali has been instrumental in shaping both my academic development and professional direction. His mentorship provided me with far more than just mastery over English writing; it instilled in me the discipline, strategic thinking, and consistency needed to thrive in competitive exams like the CSS. Under his guidance, I learned how to construct well-reasoned arguments, manage time under pressure, and produce refined content with clarity and precision. His unwavering support and tailored teaching methods gave me the confidence and competence to pursue a career in public service, a goal I once found distant and uncertain.

What kind of success have you achieved after completing Sir Syed Kazim Ali’s course? Can you provide specific examples of how his teachings impacted your exam results or life?

Completing Sir Kazim’s course marked a turning point in my academic and professional life. One of the most concrete improvements was my ability to write a structured, coherent 2,500-word essay within a three-hour timeframe, something I had never imagined possible before. This skill proved to be a major asset during my CSS attempt, especially in the essay and précis papers, which often pose a stumbling block for candidates. Beyond exams, his training significantly improved my communication skills, enabling me to express myself with greater clarity in both professional and personal settings. The most evident outcome of his mentorship was my successful qualification for the AD IB post, along with many other One Papers, milestones that would have remained out of reach without the solid foundation I built through his course.

Would you recommend Sir Syed Kazim Ali to other students preparing for CSS, PMS, or other competitive exams? If so, why?

Without hesitation, I would strongly recommend Sir Syed Kazim Ali to anyone preparing for CSS, PMS, or other competitive exams. His teaching approach is not only intellectually rigorous but also deeply personal. He identifies each student’s unique challenges and provides detailed, constructive feedback to help them grow and develop. What sets him apart is that his course goes beyond academic instruction; it nurtures discipline, builds resilience, and transforms mindsets. For those genuinely committed to excelling in high-pressure exams and seeking to develop into thoughtful, competent individuals, Sir Kazim is the mentor they need.
